LAWSON
Mother Lawson, Age 97, was a faithful Member of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church (where she was the longest-serving Church Mother). She was also Past Vice President of Choir #1. Mother Lawson was a retired Cottage Parent of Sunland Training Center, Foster Grandparent with Alachua County Schools, Member of the Jerusalem District Association, Pallbearers Lodge #113, former Member of the Order of the Easter Star, an avid poem reader and cross-word puzzle solver. Mother Lawson peacefully left us on Friday, September 16, 2011, at Palm Garden of Gainesville.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00AM Saturday, September 24, 2011, at Mount Carmel Baptist Church (Gainesville, FL) where Rev. Dr. N. LaMonte Newsome is Pastor, with her Pastor, Rev. Thomas D. A. Blue III, officiating. Burial will follow at Rhuta Branch Cemetery (Monteocha Community/Gainesville). Mrs. Lawson will be viewed at the Funeral Home on Friday 2:00-5:00PM - Then (also on Friday) she will be viewed at Emanuel Missionary Baptist Church 6-8:00PM where her Family will receive Friends. On Saturday, Mrs. Lawson will also be viewed at Mount Carmel Baptist Church 30 Minutes prior to the Services - And with the Processional. The Procession will form at the residence of her Daughter & Son-In-Law, Marva & Henry Quarterman, 1234 SE 12th St, Gainesville, at 10:15AM.
Mrs. Lawson will remain within the hearts and minds of: Son - Charles (& Ella H.) Lawson of Gainesville, FL (Eddie Lee Lawson preceded her in death); Daughter - Marva (& Henry) Quarterman of Gainesville, FL (Thelma Jean Lawson-Morrison preceded her in death); Son-In-Law - Leroy Morrison Sr. of Miami, FL; 14 Grands; 25 Great Grands; 9 Great Great Grands; Sister-In-Law - Inez Rowe of Miami, FL; Nieces & Nephews; Cousins; & Friends.
