CHITTY, HARMON

MARTIN, SR., 92

Gainesville - Harmon Martin Chitty, Sr., 92 of Gainesville, went to be with the Lord on June 25, 2013 at his home. Raised in Flemington, FL, he was a son of the late Henry Frank, Sr., and Annie Pearl Dixon Chitty. Mr. Chitty served his country during WWII in the United States Navy. He was a member of North Central Baptist Church. Mr. Chitty was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Isoline Chitty in 2005.

He is survived by his children, Rocky (Melinda) Chitty of Gainesville, FL, Debbie (Pete) Cuddy of Tallahassee, FL and Lisa (Tim) Little of Lake Worth, FL; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one brother-in-law, four sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Key, brothers, Willie Chitty, Frankie Chitty and Monroe Chitty.

Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, June 28, 2013 at 2:00 p.m., at North Central Baptist Church, 8001 NW 23rd Avenue, with Rev. Calvin Carr officiating. Interment will follow in Flemington Cemetery in Flemington with military honors. The family will receive friends Friday, June 28, 2013, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at North Central Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the care of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 North Main Street. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial contribution to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606 or to North Central Baptist Church Building Fund.
