Gainesville - Harold Eugene Consbruck, 84, died on April 4, 2013 at E.T. York Hospice Care Center.

Harold was born May 18, 1928 in Hastings, NE to John N. and Rosalia Houston Consbruck.

Harold moved his family to Gainesville in 1973, from Venezuela. He continued to work as a Petroleum Engineer, specializing in gas compression operations. Harold was a member of the John Newman National Honor Society at Iowa State University, where he earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to college, he served in the U.S. Air Force as a Cryptographic Technician, leaving with the rank of Staff Sergeant, and received the WWII Victory Medal.

Harold and Betty had planned to celebrate their 60th Wedding Anniversary this June 20th.

Harold was a member of Holy Faith Catholic Church. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking, home projects and using his fluent Spanish. First and foremost, he loved and cherished his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one infant son Christopher.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty, five sons, David (wife Linda) of Sarasota, Keith (wife Diane) of Alachua, Tom (wife Debbie) of Cincinnati, OH, Duane (wife Martha) of Boca Raton and Deacon Paul (wife Stephanie) of Jacksonville, sister Helen Kosa of San Marcos, TX., eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Forest Meadows Funeral Home from 5:00p.m. - 7:00p.m., with the Rosary being said at 6:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, April 13 at Holy Faith Catholic Church, 747 N.W. 43rd St., Consecration and Burial with Military Honors will immediately follow at Forest Meadows Memorial Park, Central.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested expressions of sympathy be made to Catholic Charities or Haven Hospice.
