Chiefland - James Trammell Harper, 67 of Chiefland, passed away Jan. 25, 2013. Mr. Harper was a lifelong resident of Chiefland. He attended Chiefland High School and was part of the team taking the State Championship in 1961. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida. Mr. Harper was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chiefland.

James is survived by his wife, Rosa Arauz Harper of Chiefland, his mother, Narcissus Harper of Chiefland, his children, James "Tram" Harper Jr. (Vonya Gagnon, Fiancé) of Clermont, FL., Joylene Tamar (Drew)Cooper of Anapolis, MD., Patricia Kohler of Chiefland, Sharon Musgrove of Waldo, a brother Tommy (Irva) Harper of Chiefland, an Aunt, Evelyn Lane of Chiefland, Aunt and Uncle, Juanita and Can Quillen of Chiefland, Cousins David and Melanie Allen of Chiefland, 6 grandchildren, and numerous other friends and relatives. He will also be missed by his dog and loyal companion, 'Buddy'.

Funeral Services will be Monday, Jan. 28, 2013 at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Chiefland, with Pastor Gordon Keller officiating. Burial will follow the service at Chiefland Cemetery.
