"JIM" HENRY, JR.

Live Oak - James "Jim" Henry Senterfitt, Jr., 90, attended by his loving wife of 34 years, Voncile, departed Haven Hospice in Lake City and entered his everlasting heavenly home on January 19, 2013.

Jim is predeceased by his parents, James Henry and Cora Senterfitt , his brothers Clarence, Bulon, and Truett Senterfitt, and his sister Tula Collier, his stepson, Johnny Smith, and his first wife, Margaret Hagan Senterfitt.

Jim is lovingly remembered by his six girls, Carol (Larry) Roberts, Williston, FL, Marilyn Roberts, Live Oak, FL, Gwen (Cecil) Stalnaker, Ft. White, FL, Angie Jackson, O'Brien, FL, Marsha (Barry) Robbins, Statesville, NC, and Valerie Smith, O'Brien, FL. Jim is also lovingly remembered by 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Jim was born in Holt, FL and he graduated from Waldon High School, Defuniak Springs, FL. He was a WWII veteran serving with the 46th Seabee Battalion in the South Pacific. Upon discharge from the service, he entered the University of Florida, Gainesville, where he received a Bachelor and Master of Agriculture. He served 30 years with the USDA Soil Conservation Service during which time he received numerous awards among which were Distinguished Service Award, Award of Merit-Resource Conservation, and Florida Association of Conservation District Award. In 2008 Jim was inducted into the NACD Southeast Region Conservation Hall of Fame. Jim was an active member and prayer warrior at First Baptist Church, Live Oak. Jim was very active in the local Kiwanis Club and received the Roy Hunter Award in 1975-76 and 1981-82. He also served as Lt. Governor of Kiwanis Club of Live Oak, Florida District Division 4.

Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, January 21st at First Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Herrington officiating. Interment will follow in the Orange Hill Cemetery, Williston, FL at 3:00pm.

Daniels Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., Live Oak & Branford, FL will be in charge of all arrangements.
