James A. Taylor, 76, Professional Record Producer, passed away Monday, July 30, 2018, at Shands Hospital. A native of St. Paul, North Carolina, he moved to Gainesville 37 years ago from Ft. Myers, FL. He was the manager of the Silver Gate Quartet, founder of Priscilla Records, producer for Jewel Records, and Rollins, Inc. His memory will live on in the hearts of his loving wife, Priscilla Taylor, Gainesville, FL, children, James Taylor, (Sherri), William B. Taylor, both of Syracuse, NY, David Lomax, Jr. Ft. Lauderdale, FL, James A. Taylor, Jeremiah Taylor, Joseph Taylor, Joshua Taylor, Jacob Taylor, all of Gainesville, FL, Fred Taylor, (Andrea) West Palm Beach, FL, Angela Hendrix, (Brian) Syracuse, NY, Ursula Davis, Lorena Wilson, (Marvin), Roanoke, VA, Priscilla Taylor, Leseida Taylor, (Mitchell), all of Gainesville, FL, Dorethea Taylor, Washington, DC, Jamanna Taylor, (Chris) Orlando, FL. Bermeka Lea, (Kevin), Klarika Newsome, (Anthony) Loretta Taylor, Lacoya Taylor, all of Gainesville, FL. Paula Taylor, Orlando, FL, sister, Estella Taylor, Gainesville, FL, brothers Alexander Taylor, (Lavora) New Symerna Beach, FL, Clarence Taylor, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, 57 grandchildren, 6 great grand children. Funeral Services for Mr. Taylor will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 12:06 Noon at The Family Church, 2022 S.W. 122nd Street, Gainesville, FL 32607. Pastor Phillip Griffin ,Sr. Pastor, and Pastors Clarence Taylor, & Jacob Taylor Officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Meadows Central Memorial Park under the care of Chestnut Funeral Home 18 N.W. 8th Ave., Gainesville, FL. There will be no public visitation on Friday. Mr. Taylor will repose following the eulogy on Saturday. The cortege will form at the family home, 7824 S.W. 52nd Place Gainesville, FL at 10:30 AM.
