A year, another birthday, & holidays have passed without you, but no matter what, memories will live in our hearts & minds forever.
Linda June Wilburn McKenzie went to be with her Lord & Savior January 30, 2017. Born in Center, Texas October 14, 1948, she was predeceased by her father & mother, Silas & Flo Wilburn, her maternal grandparents Floyd & Virgie Turner, Great Uncles: Dennis (Nancy & son, David), Henry, & Tal Turner.
Linda graduated from the University of Florida as a Health Occupational Therapist. She worked for The Children's & Families Services and The Children's Home Society as a huge advocate for children. She received recognition on local, state, and national levels for her work here and in Nacogdoches, Texas; where she continued her Children's Advocacy work with The Department of Human & Health Services.
Surviving her here in Gainesville is her daughter, Michelle McKenzie, her Aunt Nelda Belle Turner, (Thomas), Cousins Randy (Kristin), Jacob & Josie Fleming Island; Beth Walker, Roanoke, VA; & many Texas cousins living across the US.
Forest Meadows was in charge of her cremation and her remains will be buried in 'the family' cemetery at Sand Hill Cemetery in Center, Texas.
