Margie Addy Banks of Gainesville and Jacksonville went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 11, 2018. She was 85 years old. Margie was born in Preston, Georgia to Phillip and Effie Lee Addy on February 14, 1933. She graduated from Webster County High School and received a degree in English from Bessie Tift College in Forsyth, Georgia. She taught English for several years and taught English as a second language to Internationals.
Margie leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, William Alden Banks, daughters Melanie Brewer Wise of Gainesville, Marie Marshall (Tim) of Jacksonville, Allison (Brian) Flynn of Coppell, Texas and son, Timothy Banks of Gainesville. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, as well as one brother, William Phillip Addy, Jr. (Nancy) of Preston, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at Milam Funeral Home Chapel in Newberry, Florida on Friday, June 15 at 11:00 a.m., with family receiving friends one hour prior. Interment will follow at Forest Meadows West. Arrangements are in the care of MILAM FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, 22405 West Newberry Rd, Newberry, FL 32669, (352) 472-5361.
