Gainesville, FL - Mary Eliza Rosborough Kephart, age 91, died Thursday, February 7, 2013 at the E.T. York Hospice Care Center. Mary Eliza was born October 20, 1921, in her grandparents home in Micanopy, FL to Dr. Dalton Y. Rosborough and Winifred Franklin Rosborough. She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, the Daylily Circle of the Gainesville Garden Club, the Junior League of Gainesville, and a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church.

'Liza began her career in 1963 working in her mother's dress shop, Franklin's, established in 1938. Upon her mother's retirement, she ran the business with her daughter, Dalton, joining her as a third generation to work in the store with her. 'Liza and her sister Nancy later co-owned the shop until 'Liza's retirement in 1991, resulting in the closing of a successful 53 years of a family owned business.

Her interests were many including travel with trips to Europe, Egypt and an African Photo Safari. She was an avid reader and artist who enjoyed playing bridge with her longtime friends. She was a wonderful hostess who delighted in entertaining her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, step-father Charles H. Hyde, and sister, Nancy R. Maurer of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

She is survived by her daughter, Dalton Kephart Matthews (Euchee H.) of Alachua, FL, her son, Peter R. Kephart of Gainesville, FL, her brother-in-law Mark Maurer, and her nieces Lane Maurer, Mary Eliza Siegle (John) and Lesley Graham (John).
