Randy Shadburn, son of Jack "Shorty" Shadburn and Gladys Shadburn of Gainesville, FL was born on April 26, 1948. Born in Orlando, FL, Randy moved to Gainesville as a child and remained here until his death on June 1, 2013. Randy graduated from Gainesville High School in 1966 and went on to graduate from Florida Technical College with a BA in education. His career was spent in the Alachua County School System, where he first worked as a PE coach at Howard Bishop Middle School. He then was promoted to Dean of Students and went on to work at Kanapaha Middle School, Loften High School, Newberry High School, as well as the personnel department for the Alachua County School Board. Randy was a beloved man who always had a joke to tell and will be so dearly missed.
He leaves behind his former wife of 25 years, Marilyn Hennessy and their two children, Ryan Shadburn and Tiffany Mendez, as well as a granddaughter, Savanna Shadburn.
The family requests that because of Randy's love for the Gators that orange and blue dressy attire be worn to Randy's Celebration of Life to be held on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at The Chapel at Trinity United Methodist Church., 4000 NW 53rd Ave., Gainesville, FL 32653.
