Gunnison, CO - Robert J. LeChot, Jr., 58, passed away quietly at his home in Gunnison, Colorado early on November 10th, 2012.

Bob was co-owner, with Katherine LeChot Ake and operator of LeChot Funeral Home in Gunnison.

Bob was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on December 16, 1953. He moved with his family to Pompano Beach, Florida in 1959. He graduated from Pompano High School in 1972 and from Gupton-Jones Mortuary College, in Atlanta, in 1980. Bob was a licensed funeral director for 32 years.

Bob moved to Colorado in 1998 and purchased the Funeral Home from the Miller family in 2000. He quickly became a part of the community and was proud to be a supportive member. He was an active member of the Gunnison Masonic Lodge #39.

Survivors include a sister, Joan L. Shewbrooks (Stephen) of Jacksonville, Florida; two brothers, Richard A. LeChot, Sr. (Connie) of Reidsville, Georgia and Steven M. LeChot, Sr. (Sandy) of Homestead, Florida; and two more sisters, Deborah K. Barker (Bob) of Newberry, Florida and Katherine L. Ake (Rick) of Gunnison; eight nieces and nephews and nine great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 17th at Community Church in Gunnison. In lieu of flowers, Bob requested that a donation be made to Hospice of the Gunnison Valley or Gunnison Valley Animal Welfare League.
