High Springs - Ruby Lee Knight, 84, longtime resident of High Springs, Florida, died Tuesday, November 20, 2012 in E. T. York Hospice Care Center, following a long illness.
Mrs. Knight was born April 14, 1928 in Kenova, West Virginia to the late Clyde Edward and Mamie Fisher Boley. She was a homemaker and spent many years working, as a pastor's wife, as a volunteer at her church, 1st Baptist Church of High Springs, and feeding the hungry at soup kitchens in High Springs. Mrs. Knight was also an artist showing her oil painting at local art shows.
She is survived by her son, James H. (Patricia) Smith, III, of Gainesville; two grandchildren, James H. Smith, IV, of Gainesville, and Alexandra (Ryan) Huels, of High Springs.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 11:00 A. M., in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 North Main Street, Gainesville. Interment will follow in Countryside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606.
