WILLIAM HOBERT, 78

Gainesville - William Hobert "Hobie" Ford, age 78 of Gainesville, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014. He was born August 10, 1935 in Noeton, Tennessee the son ofHugh E. and Euba R. Odom Ford.

Mr. Ford was a retired carpenter and had worked for Norwood Hope. He attended Countryside Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Dale Ford and granddaughter, Danielle Giesler.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jo Ann Boka Ford; daughters, Connie L. Giesler (Louis) and Cathie F. Thomas (Dwight); siblings, Billy Jean Miller (Eugene), Beverly Hartman (Wayne), Roger Ford,John Ford (Mary Ann); grandchildren, Amanda James (Glen), Olivia Griffis (Matthew), David Giesler (Rachel), Lance Thomas (Alyssa) and Daniel Giesler and great grandchildren, Kate James, Luke James and Caleb Griffis.

A Life Celebration Service will be held Friday, February 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street, with Pastor Daniel Kendall officiating. Interment will follow in Countryside Cemetery, 10926 NW 39 Avenue.
