YVONNE COLLETTE, 52
Gainesville - Yvonne Collette Kashmere, 52 years old, passed away in her sleep on Tuesday, April 16th 2013. Yvonne grew up in the Chicago area and lived there until 2010 when she moved to Gainesville, Florida. Wherever Yvonne went, she made friends easily, and selflessly helped anyone she could. She celebrated the simple things in life and knew what was important.
Yvonne's joys in life were her three surviving daughters Monica, Jacqueline and Ashley and her first grandchild Michael. Yvonne loved her daughters very much as is evident by her apartment, which is a shrine to their lives growing up together. She spoke to them every day and listened to any concerns offering her knowledge and experience as guidance. She was a rock of support in their lives.
Yvonne spent countless hours caring for Michael in his first two years playing a pivotal role in his development. A favorite activity of theirs was for her to hide candy in her shirt pocket for Michael to find. They cherished their time together and looked forward to it every week. Later in life when her daughters moved into their own households, Yvonne opened her home to her beloved Burmese cats Sasha, Coco, Suzy, Bonnie and Margarita. What started off as a single pet turned into a forever care home for special needs Burmese cats with no other options. She saw and appreciated the beauty they had to offer when no one else would. Yvonne did not have much monetarily in her life, but what she did have; she gave freely to support the happiness of others. She was tremendously loved by her family, friends and pets and will be greatly missed.
Her family will hold a private memorial service for Yvonne on Saturday, April 20th 2013.
