Gainesville - Zenon Nagler of Gainesville, Florida went home to be with the Lord November 4, 2013. He was 89. Mr. Nagler was born in Ostrow, Poland and came to Gainesville 29 years ago.

He served America as a proud member of the United States Military for 23 years. While in the Navy he was assigned to the USS Iowa as a communications officer. The last 20 years of his service were in the Army as an Intelligence Analyst. He was fluent in five languages and 21 dialects of Russian. He used this talent to teach several semesters of Russian at the University of Florida.

He received several decorations: Bronze Star Medal, Joint Services Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Meritorious Unit citation and 2 Overseas Service Bars.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann Nagler. He is survived by his daughter, Florence Cline of Gainesville, two grandchildren, Mark Cline and Carla Richards and two great grandchildren, Erica and Alex Richards.

A casual memorial service will be held Monday, November 11, 2013 at 3:00 PM at the Forest Meadows Chapel, 4100 NW 39th Avenue.
