DAVIS, WANDA HOYER
Wanda Hoyer Davis, 85 of Gainesville, FL passed at her home on Saturday April 28, 2012. She was born on November 1, 1926 in Huntington, West Virginia and graduated from Huntington High School. She retired as the secretary of the office of admissions at the Virginia Episcopal School in Lynchburg, VA. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her family and friends and participating in her grandson's activities. Mrs. Davis was a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Andrews By-The-Sea United Methodist Church in Hilton Head Island, SC.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Thomas Davis and her sister Eloise Hayes. Survivors include her daughters Mindy Davis Duncan and Judy L. Davis, her son Charles T. "Chip" Davis, Jr., her grandson Neil Alexander Duncan all of Gainesville, FL and a nephew Raymond H. Hayes of New Orleans.
Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 6:00 PM at the Haile Village Bistro 5323 SW 91st Terrace Gainesville, FL 32608 (352) 378-0721. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Celebration United Methodist Church 9501 SW Archer Road Gainesville, FL 32608 or to Oak Hall School's Latin Club 8009 SW 14th Avenue Gainesville, FL 32607.
