PAMPO, ISIDRO, SR.

Isidro "Sidney" Pampo Sr., 85, of Gainesville, FL, passed away on Sunday, April 29th, 2012 at his home. He was born in the Philippines on May 15, 1926. He joined the US Navy as a teenager and came to America, where he met his wife Norma in her home town of New Orleans, LA. Sidney was a long-time resident of New Orleans, where he owned a popular business on Decatur Street. "Mr. Sid" was known for his warm smile and willingness to help anyone in need. He cared for his wife through many years of sickness until her death, and was finally forced to leave his beloved New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina took his house. He lived the last 7 years of his life in Gainesville, FL with his son and daughter-in-law and three of his grandchildren. He was an active member of Holy Faith Catholic Church in Gainesville.

Sidney is survived by three brothers and two sisters, his children Sidney Jr. and Clyde, his grandchildren Andrew, Tiffanie, Julian, Therese, and LyraSkye, and his great-grandson Justin.

A memorial Mass will be held in his honor on Thursday, May 3 at 9:30 am at Holy Faith Catholic Church.
