BUSH, MAX RAY

Max R. Bush, 76, of Archer, FL passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, July 22, 2012. He was born February 10, 1936 in Datto, Arkansas to the late Elvin and Mabel Bush. He attended school in Datto, Ark. and joined the US Army in 1954. He later became a police officer in St. Louis, Missouri. He moved to Gainesville, FL in 1969 where he was a police officer for Gainesville Police Department until 1976. He also attended Santa Fe Community College. Max moved to Archer in 1976 where he ran M & R Mini Market until 1979. He later became a Security Officer at the VA Hospital in Gainesville, then Shands Hospital where he retired in 1998. He was an active member of the AMVETS Post 444 in Williston, FL. He enjoyed flying, scuba diving, and riding his motorcycle with friends. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved being a grandpa. He is survived by his wife Rita of 36 years, a son Tim Bush of Gainesville and daughter Amanda Bush of Archer, two grandsons Joshua Bush and Kaiden Bush, one brother Daniel (Frankie), and a very dear friend James Hodges, along with many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. A Memorial Service will be held August 4, 2012 at 1pm in Williston, FL at the AMVETS Post 444 off Hwy 27.
