CARTER, AGER "A.J."

Ager "A.J." Carter, 102, passed away July 27, 2012 at E.T. York Care Center. A native of Glennsville, GA, he came to Gainesville over sixty years ago. He was a member of Pilgrim Rest Church Of God In Unity, where he served as a deacon, usher, and a maintenanceman. Survivors include: One daughter, Naomi Hall, Gainesville, FL. three sons Elder Charles Carter, (Mae Vesta) Ernest "Amos" Carter, (Thelma) and Roger Carter all of Gainesville, FL. 39 grandchildren, 98 great grandchildren, 55 great-great grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. Carter, will be held on Saturday, 3:00 PM at Showers of Blessings, 2615 S.E. 15th St., Gainesville, FL, Pastor Willie King. Burial will follow in Newnansville Cemetery Alachua, FL under the care of Chestnut, Funeral Home 18 N.W. 8th Ave Gainesville, FL. Visitation Friday Chestnut. Memorial Chapel 2:00-7:00 PM and on Saturday at the Church one hour before the service. The cortege will form at the home of his daughter Ms. Naomi Hall 2414 S.E. 12th Terrace at 2:15 PM.
