Mr. Drefus (Doug) T. Douglas age 79, of Keystone Heights passed away on Aug. 24, 2012 in Palatka following an extended illness. He was born on May 12, 1933 in High Springs to the late Frederick Horace and Cheta Mae (Roberts) Douglas and had served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Prior to retirement, Mr. Douglas had worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Jacksonville for 35 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Keystone Heights, was an avid hunter, fisherman, and spent many hours as a pilot flying his beloved plane. His stepson and six siblings had preceded him in death. Survivors are his wife of 44 years; Alice Parrish Douglas, children; Michael D. Douglas (Pamela) of College Station, TX, Michelle Douglas Wacha (Darren) of Keystone Heights, a sister; Alva Bellows of Ocala, grandchildren; Dustin, Austin, Hannah, Benjamin, and great grandchildren; Avery and Addison. Homecoming services will be held at the First Baptist Church on Tues. Aug. 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Marty Starling officiating with viewing beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the Keystone Heights Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Bld. Fund, Keystone Heights or the Haven Hospice Robert's Care Center, 6400 St. Johns Ave. Palatka, FL 32177. Arrangements are by Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home, 340 E.
