RUNNER, HELEN SISLER
Helen Sisler Runner, age 95 died peacefully in her sleep on September 30, 2012. A beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend she will be greatly missed. Born in 1917 in Dickerson Run, Pennsylvania, Helen and her husband John Raymond Runner of Morgantown, West Virginia moved with their four children to Orlando, Florida in 1957. In 1985 they retired to Edgewater, Florida where they were active in their local Methodist church and community. In 1999 they moved to Gainesville to be closer to their family. Helen was a resident at The Village for over 10 years and enjoyed organizing fund raising events, singing in the choir, playing bridge and bingo and spending time with her great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John Runner.
She is survived by her daughter Bonnie Jo Engelhardt and partner Susan Graesser; daughter Patty Foster and husband Skip Foster; son John R. Runner II and wife Laurene Runner; son Fred R. Runner and wife Nancy Runner; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
