ROBERT THOMAS, 85
Alachua - Robert Thomas "Tom" Martin, age 85 of Alachua, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013 in E.T. York Care Center. He was born November 1, 1927 in Tampa, Florida to William Robert and Uneeta Aldridge Martin. Mr. Martin was a meteorologist while serving in the United States Navy for 22 years. He then worked for 20 years for the United Postal Service as a let-ter carrier. Mr. Martin enjoyed traveling, especially to Alaska and Maine. He was a Christian.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Martin. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Krause Martin; daugh-ters, Tawnda Schroeder (Rick), Pam Noe (Kevin) and Coral Reid (Richard), all of Jackson-ville, FL; son, Bob Martin (Cheryl Covert) of Ashland, VA; former son-in-law, Jim Thibodeaux; sister, Martha Lancaster of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Arlynda, Erica, Lauren, Morgan and Ronnie; great grandchildren, Caleb, Chloe, Ronnie Jr., and Kate and several loving nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., at Englewood Christian Church, 4316 Barnes Road, Jacksonville, FL, with Pastor Ken Gemeinhart offici-ating and Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street, New-berry, with Dr. Don McGarity officiating.
