RALPH ANDREW, 85

Gainesville - Ralph Andrew Garmon, age 85 of Gainesville, FL passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at his home.

Born in Smyrna, Georgia on March 10, 1929 to Caleb and Lily Mae Garmon. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a manager for Winn-Dixie, and helped set up new stores as well. In 1957 he co-founded Rips Cleaners, and worked as an owner/operator until his retirement. Following retirement he worked at United Rent-All. He enjoyed baseball, camping, fishing and vacationing at his second home on Lake Vause.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Louie Garmon, Bill Garmon, and Leon Garmon. He is survived by his wife Johnnie Sue Garmon, three daughters, Diane Garmon Billings, Cheryl Garmon Jernigan, and Pamela Garmon Clemons (Earl), brother Frank Garmon, also his seven grandchildren, Christy, Wesley, Jack, Brad, Melissa, Elizabeth and Joshua, and 14 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday April 30, 2014 at Countryside Baptist Church 10926 NW 39th Avenue Gainesville, FL with the family receiving friends for visitation at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Countryside Cemetery.
