WIMS, ROOSEVELT, 67

Gainesville - Mr. Roosevelt Wims, age 67, passed away June 23, 2014 at the E.T. York Hospice Care Center. Mr. Wims moved from Miami, Florida to Gainesville in 1982; he was employed with Sams Club until his retirement.

He is survived by Ms. Savanah Wims, Gainesville, FL; children, Ivan Wims, Otis Brown, Ryan Wims Hope Wims, all of Gainesville, FL, Tequila Hunter, Tampa, FL, Keon Wims, Timothy Davis, Derek Johnson, Deon Wims, Andreal McCraw, Crystal Sapp, Michael Davis, all of Miami, FL; siblings, Willie Wims, Sr. Gainesville, FL, Christine McMath, J.C. Wims, Carie Peetluck, all of Rochester, NY, and twenty-nine grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mr. Wims will be held, 12:00noon, Friday, June 27, 2014 at Assembly of Praise Ministries, Dr. L.L. Dixon, Phd., officiating; burial will follow in Forest Meadows Memorial Park Central. Arrangements entrusted to Chestnut Funeral Home, Inc., 18 N.W. 8th Avenue, Gainesville, FL.

Mr. Wims will repose in the Chestnut Memorial Chapel on Thursday, June 26, 2014 from 2:00 until 7:00pm, and on Friday at the Church from 11:00am until the hour of service. Family and friends are asked to meet at the home of Ms. Hope Wims, 4226 N.W. 32nd Street, Gainesville, at 11:15am to form the cortege.
