MEISNER,

CHARLES ALBERT, 84

Gainesville, FL - Charles "Chuck" Albert Meisner, 84 of Gainesville, FL went to be with his loving wife Jean, while surrounded by his family at the E.T. York Hospice Care Center on Monday, July 21, 2014. Mr. Meisner was born on April 23, 1930 in Tigard, Oregon to Otto and Norma Meisner. After leaving school at the age of 17, Chuck joined the United States Navy, and proudly served his country during the Korean War. He married Marilyn Jean Williams on April 22, 1955 in Lebanon, OR. They relocated to southern California, where all three of their sons were born, until they moved to Gainesville in 1970.

Chuck was a partner in Thomas E Gates & Sons Construction and Engineering until he was fortunate enough to retire at the age of 46. Then he began to enjoy his other fulltime passions of hunting, fishing, fish fry's and some of the best barbeque with his family and friends. Chuck was a talented carpenter and craftsman, and his skills were in high demand. He completed numerous decks, custom wood working projects and custom barbeques, all of which are still being enjoyed by local area residents today.

Mr. Meisner was preceded in death by his loving wife Jean, and is survived by his three sons Marty, Mark and Todd, and his four grandchildren Amber, Benjamin, Ashley and Ryan.

Per Chucks request the family will be having a private service at a later date, and will take Jeannie's and his mixed ashes to their favorite fishing spot off Cedar Key. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Haven Hospice 4200 NW 90th Blvd. Gainesville, FL 32606.
