On October 8, Fred Llana, 59, died of heart failure in Gainesville, Fl where he lived with his family for 26 years.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle Springer-Llana, daughter, Heather Williams and his two grandsons, daughter, Natalie Llana, son, Raphael Llana, sister Orchid Torres, her husband Joe and their two children. He is mourned by special friends Gabriel Luchetta, Christina Hoyt, & Richard Leach.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents Fernando & Hilda (Mendez-Vigo) Llana and his first wife Martha Escabedo.

Fred was a descendant of Spanish Sailors and had a lifelong love of the sea. He was an exceptional fisherman, percussionist, & chef. His expertise was in blood gas technology where he worked at St. Joseph's Hospital and at Shands Hospital for the last 25 years.

Services will be held at Boza & Roel in Tampa, Fl on Saturday, Oct 13th. Services will be held in Gainesville, Fl on Tuesday, October 16th at First United Methodist Church at 6:30pm with reception to follow. Donations to the American Heart Society made in his honor are appreciated.
