MICHELLE MONCRIEF, 58
Flagler Beach, FL - Michelle Moncrief Lowe, 58, passed away November 8, 2012.
She was born in Nashville and moved to Winter Park at two. Her passions besides her family were horses and music. She raised and trained horses since her early 20's and she played in numerous bands for 40 years. She toured the southeast with her first band Brouhaha for six years before returning to Gainesville where she played for several years with Autumn and then with Jane Yii. She met her husband Steve while playing with Jane and soon after moved to Flagler Beach to raise her two children, Rebecca, 28 and James, 23 to whom she passed on both her musical talent and her love of animals.
She has performed with the folk/acoustic band The Ashley Gang for the past 15 years, playing at folk festivals and numerous concerts to benefit the environment and other worthy causes. She has performed at the Florida Folk Festival with longtime friend and musical partner Joe Mark for the past 34 years.
Michelle is preceded on her journey by her father, Walter and brother, Michael. She is survived by her mother, Lillian Cook Moncrief; her husband Steve and her two children Becky and Jamie.
There will be a memorial service held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 18th, 2012 at the Florida Ag Museum, 7900 Old Kings Road, Palm Coast, (386) 496 7630.
