Ronald Maurice Strickland of Alachua passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Haven Hospice E.T. York Care Center surrounded by his family. He was born December 29, 1960. He was a graduate of Gainesville High School where he played football for four years. He also graduated from Santa Fe Community College and attended the University of Florida.

Cooking was one of Ronald's favorite hobbies and going to the gun range with his brother-in-law. He loved the outdoors.

Ronald wad was employed by McDonalds Franchise MTLM Corp for over 22 years. Ronnie appreciated all the visits from the McDonalds employees also from P.J. Juchniewicz and Mike Potapow. He loved all the McDonald's Family.

He was baptized as a teenager at the 39th Avenue Church of Christ and attended there while growing up.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jessie L. and Minnie Sanders and F.B. and Margaret Strickland of Williston.

He is survived by his parents Maurice and Dorothy Strickland of Gainesville, his mother and father-in-law Chris and Charlie Rohleder of Longwood, FL., sister Leigh Ann Cronin (Bob) of Gainesville, FL., sister-in-law Belinda Grant (Jim) of Gardnerville, NV, nieces, Ciara Cronin, and Adriana Grant, nephews Tyler Cronin and Jimmie Grant. Ron is also survived by several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 21, at 11:00 AM at the 39th Avenue Church of Christ, 1811 N.W. 39th Ave., Gainesville, FL. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM one hour prior to service time. Brother Gene Burgett conducting services.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either Haven Hospice, 4200 N.W. 90th Blvd, Gainesville, FL. 32606 or to Ronald McDonald House, 1600 S.W. 14th St. Gainesville, FL. 32608.
