Our dear friend and Christian brother, Jacque Bixby, (and old stock car driver,) finally got the checkered flag from our Heavenly father early Friday morning as he rounded the last turn in his race to the finish line. He has been running this last race way out in front of the rest of the pack for the past couple of weeks.
Many of us were expecting him to continue in the points race next week, but he clinched the title in the biggest win of his career in this big race. On his final lap, his car was slowing down and he was completely out of fuel as he coasted across the finish line. He entered victory lane in Heaven in the wee hours on Friday morning with his big brother, Jesus Christ, welcoming him home, and all the stands there erupting in celebration! Pop Hamman and his other crew were there to celebrate as well!
Family members cheering him include wife Carole, children Jacqueline Erickson and Dale Bixby, grandchildren Peter Erickson, Patrick "Scotty" Erickson and Amy Erickson and sister Lucy Swartout.
Hebrews 12:1 "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset [us], and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."
