GUTHRIE, VIVIAN ESTELLE
Citra - Vivian Estelle Cheshire Guthrie, age 85 of Citra, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012 in E.T. York Hospice Care Center. A life-long resident, she was born December 9, 1927 in Citra, Florida to Walter E. and Grace Cochran Cheshire. Mrs. Guthrie worked at Sunland Training Center for many years. She was a very loving person who always enjoyed taking care of others. She was a member of Simmons Baptist Church, a foster grandparent of Gainesville, loved reading the Bible and working crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her children, Calvin E. Guthrie, Roland M. Guthrie and Jacqueline M. Guthrie. Mrs. Guthrie is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Tate (John) of Hawthorne, FL; brothers, W.E. Cheshire (Alice) and Russell Matchett (Sally), all of Citra, FL; sister-in-law, Josephine Mauldin; 11 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.
Her family is very thankful to her caregiver, Cynthia Dubois.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m., in Simmons Baptist Church, 7039 East Hwy 318, Citra, with Pastors Russell Matchett and Ronnie Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Johnson Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. and at the conclusion of the service, at the church.
