Gainesville - Mr. Edward Howard Schultz, Sr., 82, resident of Gainesville, Florida, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at his home, following a long illness.

Mr. Schultz was born December 19, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Edward and Bernice Schultz. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Schultz worked as a mechanic for the Ford Motor Co. Transmission Plant in Livonia, Michigan until his retirement, and moved to Gainesville in 1985. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, and the American Legion, Haisley Lynch Post 16, Gainesville. Mr. Schultz was of the Presbyterian faith.

He is survived by his wife, Darla Schultz, of Gainesville; two sons, Stephen Schultz, of Ashburn, VA and Edward Schultz, of Longwood, FL; two daughters, Tracy Kobylard, of Redford, MI, and Terri Armenta, of McDonough, GA; three stepchildren, David Bruce, of Orlando, FL, and Tim Watson and Diane Bair, both of Gainesville; one sister, Marlene Bruner, of Stanford, MI; Five grandchildren also survive.

No local services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alachua County Humane Society, 4205 NW 6th Street, Gainesville, FL 32609.
