Gainesville - Bernice McDavid Harrison of Gainesville and Dublin, GA went to be with her Lord in Heaven, on April 1, 2013 at the Serenity Hospice Place in Dublin, surrounded by her family. Bernice was born in Lacrosse, FL to Lonnie and Ruth McDavid.

Bernice was an Elementary School Teacher, a member of the Gainesville Garden Club and Westside Baptist Church where she served the Lord for many years. She enjoyed cooking, music, sewing, fashion and all UF Athletics. She was a member of the Gator Boosters for many years. Fall Saturdays were especially exciting as Bernice loved Gator Athletics and rarely missed a chance going to cheer on the Gator Football, which instilled a great passion for sports that continues with her children and grandchildren. Bernice loved her family and friends and enjoyed hosting special dinners for them.

Bernice was predeceased by her loving husband Dalton Harrison and her parents Lonnie and Ruth McDavid. She is survived by her daughter Dawn Cusumano Nesler (Greg) of Williston, a son Sidney Harrison (Belinda) of Dublin, GA, Grandchildren Chelsea Harrison Marcan of Melbourne, FL, Tige Harrison of Gainesville, Sydnee Harrison of Dublin, GA, Ryan Cusumano and Clayton Nesler both of Williston, FL and a Great Granddaughter Callie Marcan of Melbourne, FL.

The family would like to thank all of the caring staff at Benton House, Serenity Hospice and Fairview Park Hospital for the love and care of our Mother during her stay. God Bless each of you. Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Chapel in the Meadows at Forest Meadows Central, 4100 NW 39th Avenue, Gainesville with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the funeral.
