Largo - Guylena Stubbs Anderson, 97, formerly of Gainesville, FL, died April 10, 2013 in Largo, FL. She was born in Freeport, FL on January 23, 1916 to Velma and William Stubbs and grew up in Sarasota FL.

After graduating from Florida Southern College and the University of Florida, she taught elementary school in Gainesville for many years, sharing her love of learning with hundreds of young students.

She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, PEO and a former board member of the Children's Home Society. She loved cooking, gardening and Gator football.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Arthur Anderson. She is survived by her son, Chuck Anderson, of Orlando, FL, Daughter Cynthia Paganini and her husband Dan Mason, of Largo, FL, granddaughter and husband, Bonnie and Bob Sequin, grandchildren Charlotte and Nick Paganini, and great-granddaughters Courtney and Cameron Sequin, as well as nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, April 15, 2013 at 11 am, at the First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville, 106 SW 3rd St., Gainesville, FL 32601. In lieu of flowers, any contributions can be made to the Children's Home Society or the First Presbyterian Church.
