KLOEPPEL, ROBERT C., 54

Gainesville - Robert C. Kloeppel "Bobby", age 54, passed away after a brief illness at North Florida Regional Hospital on May 3rd, 2013. Born March 23rd 1959 in Jacksonville, Florida, Bobby moved with his family to Gainesville in 1964 into what was the very first house built in the Suburban Heights subdivision. Bobby often remarked how much he loved growing up in Gainesville and shared stories of the many good times that he, his siblings and his friends had growing up during a time when life in Gainesville was easy and carefree.

He started kindergarten at Myra Terwilliger Elementary School, the first year that it opened and then started his teenage years at Westwood Junior High School, where he was voted "Most Dependable". Bobby graduated from Buchholz High School, where he was very active playing football and working on the yearbook. Bobby was also a member of the Honor Society and participated in Student Government. His laughter and his smile was infectious and he gained and kept many friends throughout his school years.

After high school Bobby attended Santa Fe College, the University of Florida, and obtained his degree from Nova University. It was during his years in college that Bobby worked at a local eatery, Cafe Gardens, where he met and made many close friends that he would keep throughout the rest of his life. Many good times were had and stories told about the "Cafe Gardens Years".

Bobby had a very satisfying career with Seminole Feed Stores and as a sales representative serviced many Central Florida thoroughbred farms, earning the admiration and respect of all of his clients. Bobby was also known for his love of boats, and at one time was one of the most successful Boston Whaler salesmen in the state. Bobby's ability to make friends and gain their trust and confidence was unparalleled. His straightforward and honest manner was an important contributor to his success.

Bobby's passion for life was remarkable. He loved Florida football, loved being out on the water or riding the horses that he and his wife, Libby, shared. He adored his pets and enjoyed traveling. Bobby was also passionate about music, and could tell you anything you ever wanted to know about the Eagles or Jimmy Buffett. Bobby's biggest passion though, was his family and his friends. He was a devoted husband, dedicated son and brother. Once you had Bobby's friendship, you had it for life.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Libby, mother Louise Kloeppel, brother Bill and his wife Martha, sister Susan and her husband Ray Sisler, two horses, two dogs, a cat and a host of lifelong friends. He is pre-deceased by his father Bill Kloeppel.

Memorial celebration will be held Friday, May 10th at 2:00 PM at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Parish Hall. As Bobby would have liked, please dress casual - shorts, jeans, Columbia or Guy Harvey shirts are acceptable. And in honor of Bobby, instead of flowers please simply perform an act of kindness for someone else.
