The Lord descended his angels on Thursday, July 18, 2013 and commissioned his faithful servant home. As Minister Eleanor "Kit" Randall entered the pearly gates of her heavenly home she was greeted by her brother who preceded her in death, Freddy Williams. Eleanor was the daughter of Rev. Joseph & Lillie Mae Williams, she was born June 14, 1952 in Hawthorne, FL. She was a 1970 graduate of Hawthorne High School and the 1st African American Home-coming Queen. She was united in Holy matrimony to her husband Gilbert Randall on September 9, 1975 and to this union they were blessed with five children. Minister Randall accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful and dedicated member of New Hope United Methodist Church, Hawthorne, FL, where she served as a Minister and Church Administrator for many years. She was also extremely passionate about her community and served as City Commissioner from 2004 - 2009, City Mayor 2009 - 2011, and City Commissioner 2011 - until her time of death. Minister Randall was a Bellsouth Telecommunications Retiree after 30 years as Head Clerk and was a CWA member. She was currently employed at the Uni-versity of Florida.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a loving and devoted husband, Gilbert Randall; 2 sons, Willie "J.J." Jenkins and Jason Randall, Hawthorne, FL; a step son, Mondra Randall, Westminster, MD; 3 daughters, Lisa Collins (Derrick); Kelis Randall and Jacquelyn Randall, Hawthorne, FL; 10 grandchildren who affectionately loved their "MeMe"; Loving Parents, Rev. Joseph and Lillie Mae Williams, Hawthorne, FL; 2 brothers, Terrell Williams (Elaine), Hawthorne, FL, and Joseph "Al" Williams (Bonita), Gainesville, FL; special cousin who was raised as a sister, Sheryl Williams, Hawthorne, FL.
Viewing will be Friday, July 26, 2013, 5-7 p.m. at New Hope United Methodist Church, 22500 SE 71 Ave., Hawthorne, FL. Home Going Celebration Services will be Saturday, July 27, 2013, 10 a.m., Hawthorne High School Auditorium, Rev. Carl Gadson, Presiding, Rev. Eugene E. Herring, Sr., Eulogist.
