LINCH, MARGUERITE

Mrs. Linch was born on a farm near O'Brian Florida. She had eight brothers and sisters. She maintained close communication with all of them throughout her life. She worked as a secretary for the Farm Security Administration in Mayo. She moved to High Springs in 1941after her marriage to Horace Greeley Linch, a railroad engineer. Mr. Linch died in 1978. After her two children were grown she graduated from Lake City Community College and she completed a large amount of course work at the University of Florida. She worked at the Martin Luther King Day Care Center in High Springs. She worked for the Food Stamp Agency in Gainesville. She also worked for Vocational Rehabilitation in Gainesville. After she retired she devoted herself to the roles of grandmother, church member and tree farmer. She was an avid gardener and she produced an abundance of vegetables. She maintained a keen interest in politics and current events. She was a lifelong democrat. She is survived by her son Jody David Linch; her granddaughter Emma Marguerite Linch; by her daughter Diane Linch Shupe; her granddaughter Ravenna Forrester Mason; her great granddaughter Victoria Beth Mason, all of High Springs; by her grandson Ray Walker Forrester and great granddaughter Nora Allison Forrester, both of Norfolk Virginia; by one brother Ovid R. Barnett and one sister Vivian Maxine Horne. She gives recognition to her faithful caregiver, Debbie Gail Roberts.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30pm, Sunday, October 6 at First United Methodist Church, 17405 NW US Highway 441, High Springs, Florida.
