Micanopy - Lois Preston "Bootsie" Hilleary, age 90 of Micanopy, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014 at UF Health (Shands Hospital) in Gainesville. A life long resident of Micanopy, Lois was born in 1923 to George Wallace and Mary Lois Preston. She was an elementary school teacher in Micanopy and in Hawthorne. Lois was an FSU graduate and finished her Master's degree at University of Florida. She was predeceased by her husband William Allen Hilleary in 1999.

Survivors include her daughters; Karen (Perry) Tompkins of Yulee, FL, Barbara (Frank) Wentzel of Brooksville, FL, and Suzan (Bill) Underwood of Lacrosse, FL, son Billy (Melissa) Hilleary of Hawthorne, 8 grandchildren; Weston, Wade, and Brooke Tompkins, Hilleary Wentzel, Shannon Holland, Elizabeth Underwood, and Chris and Michael Hilleary, and 10 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11:00 am Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Micanopy Historical Cemetery in Micanopy, FL.
