Powell, Julia Wade - Cornelia  
April 27, 1928-July 26, 2016 Julia Wade Powell, age 88, of Lula, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016. Born in Alto, Ga., on April 27, 1928, she was a daughter of the late T.J. and Myrtle Poole Wade. Mrs. Powell was an employee of Carwood Manufacturing for many years and a member of Yonah Congregational Holiness Church. She loved everyone and enjoyed helping others. She especially enjoyed making and giving fried pies to her family and friends. Mrs. Powell is known by her nieces and nephews as "Jubie." In her spare time she enjoyed flower gardening. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Luther Powell; brother, Oltha L. Wade; sister, Lucille E. Wade; and brother-in-law, Garnett Grier. Survivors include her sister, Gertrude Grier of Lula; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Eugene Franklin of Alto; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Wade of Alto; several special nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2016, from the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeremy Garmon officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery with Mr. Ronnie Franklin offering the closing prayer. Pace, George V. - Marietta  
Dec. 2, 1928-July 24, 2016 George V. Pace, age 87, of Gainesville passed away July 24, 2016. Mr. Pace was born in Atlanta on Dec. 2, 1928, to Homer and Mary Pace. He graduated from Boys High in Atlanta and attended Georgia Tech. He retired from the City of Atlanta as a Civil Engineer after many faithful years of service. Mr. Pace was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a lifetime member of the Masons and a member of the First Baptist Church of Gainesville, where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He loved golf and after retiring achieved three holes-in-one. He enjoyed woodworking and made furniture and toys for his grandchildren. Mr. Pace is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeannine Pace. He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Pace Wolfram and husband, Dan; son, Leonard Drew Pace and wife, Becky; grandchildren, David Fowler, Brooke Gilliland and husband, Ben, Kimberly Campbell and husband, Nick, Kelsey Wolfram; and great-grandson, Judson Campbell. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, July 27, at 11 a.m. at the Masters Family Cemetery in Ellenwood, Ga. HM Patterson & Son Canton Hill Chapel, Marietta
