Gailey, Rubie Wilbanks - Baldwin  
Rubie Wilbanks Gailey, age 97, of Baldwin, Ga., passed away Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mrs. Gailey was born in Baldwin, Ga., on Nov. 17, 1917, to the late Gill T. and Samantha Payne Wilbanks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Shelton Gailey; son, Thomas Gailey; grandson, Michael Gailey; four sisters; and five brothers. She was a member of Leatherwood Baptist Church and was active in AARP. She was a homemaker and loved to garden. She also loved to travel and has traveled to every state in the USA and many foreign countries. Mrs. Gailey was well-known for her Christmas light display that she had yearly at her home. She is survived by her daughter, Jackie Gailey; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Jean Gailey; daughter-in-law, Pauline Gailey; and sister, Elsie Mae Andrews, all of Baldwin; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, in Baldwin with the Rev. James Morgan, the Rev. Kenneth McEntire and the Rev. William Nation officiating. Entombment will be at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4–8 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, at the funeral home. Goldin, J.R. - Temple  
J.R. "Bobby" Goldin of Temple (Draketown community) passed away Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born Dec. 10, 1930, son of the late John Maddox Goldin and Eula Roxane Eaves Goldin. Mr. Goldin was a high school graduate of Buchanan High School, attended Georgia Tech and West Georgia College. He was a member of the Draketown Baptist Church and he served in the U.S Army Reserve. After retiring from a long career at Lockheed, he founded Draketown Gas Co., which he owned and operated for a number of years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lavern Rose Goldin, in 2006. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Stover Goldin of Temple; two daughters and their spouses, Joy and Tim Pope of Tallapoosa, Jo and John Holder, Temple; grandchildren, Jaeson and Britney Smith, Tallapoosa, Jon Adam Holder of Richfield, Minn., Laura Smith and Kyle Scott, Decatur, Erin and Michael Holder of Temple; great-grandchildren, Graeson and Grant Smith of Tallapoosa; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley White, Temple, Virginia "Jennie" Hutcheson of Temple, Diane and Donald Hamil of Bremen, Violet and Jimmy Shadrix of Temple, Carolyn Hitchcock of Dallas; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Elaine Stover of Oakwood; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Anderson of Commerce. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5-9 p.m. Services will be Friday, Dec. 19, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Mr. Jaeson Smith and the Rev. Wendell Rush officiating. Cortney White, Ricky White, Shane Shadrix, Clay Hamil, Mark Bradley, Jeff Bradley and Dwight Singleton will serve as pallbearers. Grizzle, L D - Dahlonega  
L D Grizzle, age 83, of Dahlonega, Ga., passed away Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Ga., following a period of declining health. L D was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. He was a ginseng farmer and was of the Baptist faith. L D was the son of the late Duffie and Elsie Lingerfelt Grizzle, and was also preceded in death by brothers, Fred Grizzle and Clyde Grizzle; and sister, Gwen Norrell. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley Howard Grizzle; sons, Tim Grizzle and Mike Grizzle; brother and sister-in-law, Judd and Cunnie Grizzle; sisters, Maxie Garrett and her husband, Robert, Blonnie Summerour, Ostena Grizzle and her daughter, Tena, Mae Lee and Dena Justus; granddaughter, Lela Garcia; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Mason and Sophia; lifelong friend, Marion Kursh. Numerous other relatives also survive. Funeral services for L D are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jason Fuller, the Rev. Lyman Caldwell and the Rev. Ernest Fortner will officiate. Interment will follow in Dahlonega Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, Ga., on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. and again on Sunday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.
