Bobby "Leonard" Joe Toler, 68, of Lula succumbed to an extended battle with COPD on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at home. Mr. Toler was born Jan. 3, 1946, in Coal Mountain, W.Va., to Russell and Geraldine Toler.
Mr. Toler was a loving father, he did his best to provide for his family and tried to help us through our lives and deal with our decisions.
He served in the U.S. Navy
during Vietnam. He retired from Shasta Beverages in 2011 after 19 years of service. He was industrious, a mechanic by trade, but tried his hand in various fields. If something was broken, he could fix it, if not, it either couldn't be fixed or it was better that you just buy a new one. Before his health limited his ability, he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing especially.
Mr. Toler was preceded in death by his son, Leonard Keith Toler; his father, Russell Toler; his mother, Geraldine Blankenship Toler; his sister, Rebecca Sue Toler.
Mr. Toler is survived by three children, Penny (Scott) Mathieu, Russell Lee Toler and Amanda (Frankie) Roberts; four grandchildren, Ashley (Danny) O'Dell, Jack (J.D.) Mathieu, Donna Mathieu and Nicholas Toler; three great-grandchildren, Keith Wilson, Abigail Wilson and Kinsley Dunn; six sisters, Charlene (Jay) Dameron, Ernestine Paul, Eleanor (Hugh) Little, Donna Harvey, Pam (Harold) Miller and Lisa Jordan; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial will be held at Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford, Ga., on Saturday, July 5, 2014 from 1-3 p.m.
