Lt. Col. David Allan Bell, 72, of Woodbridge, Va., passed away at his home Monday, Feb. 3, 2014. The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Memorial Park Funeral Home with a graveside service at 2:30 at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Lt. Col. Bell is a 1958 graduate of GHS in Gainesville, Ga. He was then commissioned a second lieutenant after graduating from NGC in Dahlonega, Ga., in 1962. His 24-year career in Army Military Intelligence took him worldwide starting in Little Rock, Ark., to France, Germany, three tours of Vietnam, Norway, Atlanta and ending with several years in DC.
Lt. Col. Bell was the son of the late Eva and Paul Bell of Chicopee, Gainesville, Ga.; the beloved 20-year companion of Mary Voss of Illinois, who passed away 10 days after his death. He is survived by a daughter, Catherine Conner; and a granddaughter, Tabitha Conner, both of Ellijay, Ga.; a sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Robert Walker of Easley, S.C.; two nephews, Corbin Allan Worley of Greenville, S.C., and Kelsey Grant Worley of Atlanta, Ga.; and a niece and nephew, Sherri and Daylane Cox of Piedmont, S.C.
