Hilda Myron Mitchell Hopper, 81, of Rabun Gap, Ga., passed away at her residence Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012.
She was born in Clayton, Ga., and was the daughter of Rockaway Mitchell and Elzia McCall Mitchell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Kilby, and a brother, J.R. Mitchell.
Mrs. Hopper is survived by her husband, Glenn Edward Hopper, of the home; two sons, Elmer Dean Hopper and his wife, Gayle Long Hopper, Braselton, Ga.; Rocky Ellis Hopper and his wife, Elizabeth Dupree Hopper, Rabun Gap, Ga.; one daughter, Glenda Charlyne Dailey, Rabun Gap, Ga.; three brothers, Thomas Mitchell, Clayton, Ga.; Lloyd Mitchell, Mountain City, Ga.; Doug Mitchell, Clayton, Ga.; five sisters, Betty Jo Gibby, Toccoa, Ga.; Patsy Alley, Rabun Gap, Ga.; Blondine Barron, Clayton, Ga.; Beverly Mason, Clayton, Ga.; and Marilyn Ballew, Clayton, Ga. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was very involved with the Wolffork Baptist Church where she was a longtime member. She taught Sunday school, and was the church's secretary-treasurer for many years. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, and was also a member of the WMU.
The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at Wolffork Baptist Church with the Rev. James Greer officiating. Burial will follow in the Wolffork Baptist Church Cemetery.
