Ila Mae Williams, 92, of Gainesville passed away Sunday June 22, 2014, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 25, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. John Kinsey officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ms. Williams was born June 19, 1922, in Gainesville to the late R.A. and Cordie Maebell Free Thomas. Ms. Williams was a homemaker, also retired from the Hall County Board of Education where she was a custodian at East Hall High School for many years. Ms. Williams was a member of Harmony Hall Baptist Church and preceded in death by her husband Ernest Williams.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Kathy Williams of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Tim Clark of Gainesville; daughter, Peggy Dover of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Connie Williams of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Gary Buffington of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Kenneth Jarrard of Dahlonega; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Henry Thomas of Florida; brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Nancy Thomas of Gainesville; sister, Thelma Hamilton of Gainesville; and sister, Evelyn Logan of Gainesville.
