Myrtle Flanagan Douglas

Mrs. Myrtle Flanagan Douglas, age 84, of Oakwood passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at her residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, July 5, 2014, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Mike Williams will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 3, 2014, and Friday, July 4, 2014 from 5-9 p.m.

Mrs. Douglas was born on January 5, 1930, in Gainesville, Ga., to the late Willie L. Flanagan and Amy Bell Brookshire Flanagan. She was a homemaker and was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lucille Wasdin; sister, Edna Jordan; sister, Frances Strickland; sister, Martha Patterson; brother, Frank Flanagan; brother, George Flanagan; brother, James Flanagan.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Douglas of Oakwood; sister, Wilma Peters of Flowery Branch; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Larry Douglas of Oakwood; brother and sister-in-law, Hoyt and Linda Flanagan; number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA 30504, is in charge of arrangements.
