Mrs. Nell Claire (Williams) Harris, age 91, of Gainesville, Ga., passed away Friday, Oct., 26, 2012, at her residence.
Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at the chapel of Lanier Village Estates. The Rev. Richard Evans and the Rev. Bruce Fields will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service. Interment will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery, in Albany, Ga.
Mrs. Harris was born March 11, 1921, in Baconton, Ga., and was the daughter of the late Edward Brooks and Thalia (Watson) Williams. She was a graduate of ABAC and the University of Georgia
. As a wife and homemaker, she supported her husband throughout his career with Ralston Purina. In that time they lived in several states including Missouri, Indiana, Michigan and Georgia. She was an active member of the Baptist Church and also the local garden clubs. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Emmett Harris, Jr.; and a sister, Blanche W. Roesch.
Mrs. Harris is survived by her son, Charles E. Harris, III, Cumming, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Edward Brooks Harris and Martha, Spartanburg, S.C.; nephew and wife, Edward A. Brown and Karen, Athens, Ga.; grandson and wife, Charles E. Harris, IV and Carrie; granddaughter, Kathleen T. Harris; great-grandson, Grayson Harris; great-nephews and niece, Brooks Brown, Ed Brown and Vicky Buschbaum.
