Mrs. Sharon Hale Brooks, age 61, of Oakwood passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at Emory University Hospital following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at the chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. The Rev. Scott Crook will officiate. The family will receive friends 6–8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brooks was born June 4, 1951, to the late Roy Dean and Winifred Susan Beatrice Hale Sr. in Atlanta and was a member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Ronnie Brooks. Mrs. Brooks was a devout Christian who loved the Lord with all her heart and soul.

Survivors include: daughter, Melissa Brooks of Braselton; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Michael Knight of Oakwood; brother, Gary Hale of Lilburn; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Vernon Turner of Flowery Branch; granddaughters, Victoria Wallis and Katherine Knight; sister-in-law, Pat Galloway of Chamblee; nieces, Debbie Sitter and Jenni Rearick; nephew, Keith Turner; and dear and close family friend, Fran Kimbel.
