Mr. James S. "Jim" Cornett Jr., age 45, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014.

A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel. The Rev. Steve Brown and Kathy Bradley will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Jimmy was born July 23, 1968, and was a lifetime resident of Hall County.
He was a graduate of Gainesville High School class of 1986. He was a United States Marine, serving in Iraq during Operation Desert Storm. He was also a member of the Presidential Honor Guard. Jimmy received a bachelor's degree in business from Georgia Southern University and earned his MBA from the University of Georgia. Jimmy was an active member in AA and Al-Anon and spent the last several years of his life serving others through these organizations.
He is survived by his mother, Jean Cornett and Hank Porter; father and stepmother, Jim and Janet Cornett; sisters, Dawn Satterfield; sister and brother-in-law, Andy and Mary Beth Alexander; uncle and aunt, Bobby and Linda Cornett; nephews, Dalton and Dillon Satterfield; Cash and Davis Alexander; cousins, Steven, Robert and Sarahlyn Cornett; and their children, Grace Blythe, Naomi, Norah and Graham; as well as a numerous friends; and extended family; and his beloved fur babies (cats), Roscoe and Daisy.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions be made to Hall County Humane Society, 435 W. Ridge Road, Gainesville, GA 30501 or St. Luke Church. 1087 Green St. Circle, Gainesville, GA 30501.
