He was adored by all and will be greatly missed.
Jerre was a real estate broker by profession, but a craftsman by nature. After graduating from Campbell of Fairburn, he studied art for a year at the High Museum of Art. His creative insight and craftsmanship paved the path for him to construct homes, apartments and mobile home parks in novel and unique ways. He expressed his creativity through a variety of modes including drawing, painting, creating models, photography and construction. He attended the University of Georgia, where he became a lifelong Georgia football fan. He enjoyed Westerns and was a huge fan of "Gunsmoke." He enjoyed travel and was fortunate to be able to see much of the world.
Jerre faced many heath obstacles throughout his lifetime, and he persevered time and time again. He was a fighter who rarely felt pain nor fear. He befriended doctors, nurses, and therapists, regardless of the situation. Jerre spent his final days as a resident at Lanier Park New Horizons. Comfortably tucked away in his man cave, he enjoyed being waited on, watching television, cuddling with Linda and spending time with family and staff. He greeted everyone who entered the room with a smile. He was loved by all who met him and his cunning personality was legendary. He passed peacefully surrounded by family and cared for by kind nurses whom his family wishes to thank.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 24 at 2 p.m. at Memorial Park Chapel with interment to follow at Alta Vista cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
