A service of death and resurrection will be celebrated for Martha Jones Coffee, age 88, of Oakwood on Wednesday, July 16 at 2 p.m. at Antioch United Methodist Church. The Rev. Mike Roper will officiate. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home. Mrs. Coffee passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014.

Mrs. Coffee was born in Hall County to the late Charles Jones and Estelle Allison Jones. She graduated from Young Harris College and the University of Georgia. She taught at Tadmore Elementary and Lyman Hall and was Assistant Director of Hall County Reading Program. She was a member of Georgia Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church where she was an active member of the choir and held many offices in the church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jimmy Harold Coffee.
Survivors include, sons and daughter-in-law, Charles and Martha Coffee, Gainesville, Greg and Sheila Coffee, Gainesville; daughter, Millicent Ann Coffee Harris, Oakwood; sister, Dorothy Roper, Gainesville; grandchildren, Kristi House, Flowery Branch, Kyle Coffee, Gainesville, Chandler Coffee, Athens, Eric Coffee, Lawrenceville, Meredith Norris, Gainesville, Joseph Harris, Gainesville, Samuel Harris, Oakwood; great-grandchildren, Victoria Carnes, Tyler Coffee, Charlie House, Cooper House, Drew Coffee and Claire Coffee.
