Candace Olivia Maxwell Northrup, age 34, of Cornelia, Ga., passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at her residence following an extended illness.|
Candace was born on Oct. 11, 1978, in Blairsville, Ga. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Logan Z. and Lillie Mae Maxwell; and special cousin, Justin Fambrough. Candace was a member of White Hall Baptist Church in Lula, and was a very dedicated wife and homemaker.
Survivors include her loving husband, Joe Northrup, Cornelia, Ga.; father, Manson Maxwell, Gainesville, Ga.; mother, Anita Maxwell, and her fiancé, Chris Townley, Gainesville, Ga.; sister, Natalie Maxwell Chandler, Gainesville, Ga.; maternal grandparents, Wiley and Betty Miller, Gainesville, Ga.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bud and Faye Northrup, Cornelia, Ga.; nephews, Jacob Moses and Bailey Maxwell; nieces, Emily Chandler and Tristyn Chandler; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Ga., with the Rev. Danny Hart officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Melvin Baugh officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2013, and from 5-9 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2013, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Candace Northrup Memorial Fund, c/o Joseph V. Northrup, 335 Wayside St., Cornelia, GA 30531, to aid cancer patients.
